Join us for a summer of creativity and fun!

Camps run 9am-noon & 1-4pm.
Bring a lunch and make it a FULL DAY of CAMP
when you add the 12-1pm supervised lunch period.

MORNING CAMPS

KITE (Kids Interactive Theatre Experience)

Ages 5-7 | Time: 9am-11am
The camp will focus on a new book each day, reading the story and then acting it out with different costume pieces, props and drama games!

Nailing the Audition: Musicals

Ages 10-15 | Time: 9am-12pm
This camp breaks down the elements necessary for an audition from start to finish, including do’s and don’ts, what to bring, and how to prepare.

Acting Fundamentals

Ages 8-13 | Time: 9am-12pm
This camp focuses on monologues, scene study, and exercises to introduce young performers to the basics of performance, including vocal and physical techniques.

Intro to Technical Theatre

Ages 9-13 | Time: 9am-12pm
This class dives into the world of backstage roles and responsibilities – every participant will get safety training and hands-on experience with the tools and gear we use for running a show.

Supervised Lunch Week of July 6-July 10

Ages 6-18 | Time: 12pm-1pm
Are you participating in a morning AND an afternoon camp? Stay onsite to eat your lunch and participate in some organized fun art-themed activities during the time in between camps! We will have a teaching artist on hand to monitor and lead the fun. In order to participate, your child must be registered for at least one camp. Please bring your own sack lunch, including a drink.

AFTERNOON CAMPS

Performing Arts Camp – Musical: Willy Wonka Jr.

Ages 7-14 | Time: 1pm-5pm | NOTE: This is a 3 week camp that starts July 6
This multi-week camp is centered around a short script, with the goal is staging it by the final day of camp. Costume and a t-shirt are included. The camp will culminate in a performance in the Parsons Theatre on the final day of the camp.

Broadway Dance – Classic Musical Choreography

Ages 9-16 | Time: 1pm-4pm
Learn the basic dance steps for musical theatre, featuring some of your favorite Broadway tunes. A must-take class for any young musical theater performer!

Performing Shakespeare

Ages 10-18 | Time: 1pm-4pm
In this camp we will work on understanding the language of Shakespeare and how to perform it. Each actor will be given a monologue/scene work and we will coach, work, and rehearse them.

Intro to Stage Make-up

Ages 9-14 | Time: 1pm-4pm
This camp will focus on the very basic building blocks of stage make-up that all actors need.

Comedy/Improv Basics

Ages 8-13 | Time: 9am-12pm
This camp series focuses on helping young performers craft their comedic performance through introductory improv techniques through activities and small scenes.

Stage Combat & Movement

Ages 10-16 | Time: 9am-12pm
This camp is for the beginning to intermediate actor to teach the proper and common on-stage combat techniques and exploration of movement/staging for active scenes.

Ages 10-16 | Time: 1pm-4pm
In this camp, we will walk through playwriting format, explore finding stories and topics we want to address with our writing.

Magic!

Ages 7-13 | Time: 9am-12pm
In this camp, participants will learn new magic techniques every day, along with what it means to be a magician!

Page-to-Stage: Fairytales 

Ages 8-11 | Time: 9am-12pm
The camp will focus on a new story each day, reading the story and then acting it out with different costume pieces, props and drama games!

Design: Props, Set & Dressing

Ages 10-18 | Time: 9am-12pm
This camp is for the creative theater kid who wants to learn more about designing for theatre.

Intro to Puppetry

Ages 8-15 | Time: 9am-12pm
This introductory camp explores the incredible world of puppetry – from creation of a character, to movements, emoting, expressions and beyond. We will develop our own puppets and bring them to life!

Intro to Costuming

Ages 8-13 | Time: 9am-12pm
This camp will focus on the very basic building blocks of costume design. We will pick a production and work on creating a costume design for the show to come to life.

In this camp we will work on a variety of popular musical theatre pieces, focusing on the vocal skills and techniques specific to stage performances.

Drawing & Detective: Mystery Mind Quest

Ages 7-13 | Time: 1pm-4pm
In this camp, participants will put their creative side in gear and solve puzzles while exploring a variety of fun drawing techniques!

Music Theatre Intensive: Hadestown

Ages 8-16 | Time: 1pm-4pm
This camp will center around a specific musical, focusing on a few selections from that musical with choreography and vocal performance highlighted.

Creating “Big Characters

Ages 9-14 | Time: 1pm-4pm
This camp will focus on how to create memorable characters through strong but relevant vocal and physical choices and will begin with crafting motivations. 

Painting for the Stage Basics

Ages 10-15 | Time: 1pm-4pm
This camp will focus on the basic building blocks of stage painting, painting techniques that help a stage to look realistic and dynamic for an audience.

AFTERNOON CAMPS

Magic in Motion

Ages 7-17 | Time: 1pm-4pm
This interactive camp uncovers the secrets of magic tricks for participants with everyday objects – coins, cards scarves and more!

Missoula Children’s Theatre: Rapunzel

MCT arrives with a set, lights, costumes, props and make-up, everything it takes to put on a play…except the cast. Register and you get to join the cast of 50-60 local students to perform in the production. Roles are assigned on Monday (all registered will get a role onstage). Rehearsal times are assigned based on the role. The show is rehearsed throughout the week and two public performances are presented at the end of the week in the Parsons Theatre. Tickets to the performances are NOT included in the tuition price and must be purchased separately. Pre-registration only, limited spots available in each age group.

Ages 5-7 | Time: M, W, Th, Fr 1pm-3pm (possible 10am-12pm dress rehearsal on Friday)
