National Museums
After years of planning and construction, the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture opened its doors on September 24, 2016. The building is home to over 30,000 artifacts showcasing four centuries of African-American life in the United States. This video originally aired on CBS Sunday Morning in 2016. Quincy Jones, who contributed personal treasures to the museum. gave correspondent Lee Cowan a sneak preview of the building and its historic collection.
