Launched in 2001, Northglenn’s Art on Parade program is a unique one-year outdoor sculpture-on-loan program that features the work of up to six professional sculptors in our outdoor gallery at EB Rains Jr. Memorial Park.Submissions are accepted from artists throughout the United States, from which six pieces are selected by a committee formed of residents, park visitors, NAHF members, artists and students. The critical component of this program involves the solicitation of public votes to select the winning sculpture from the six selected by the committee. The piece receiving the most votes is then earmarked for purchase by NAHF and, once purchased and permanently installed, gifted to the City of Northglenn. The artist of the winning piece, the People’s Choice, receives a $1,000 cash award.

Through the Art on Parade and several large-scale commissioned works, the Northglenn Arts and Humanities Foundation has purchased and gifted over $900,000 in public art to the City of Northglenn. Funding comes from the Scientific & Cultural Facilities District (SCFD), Colorado Creative Industries, NAHF, private donors and many others. The work is permanently installed at various locations throughout the City of Northglenn for everyone to enjoy.

Northglenn Arts is also proud to partner with Chicano Humanities & Arts Council (CHAC) on the inaugural year of Northglenn’s indoor public art exhibit at the new Parsons Theatre. CHAC is an inclusive community of all creatives that are dedicated to preserving, showcasing, educating, and reflecting the essence of Chicana/o/x, Latina/o/x and other multicultural/multiracial communities. Northglenn Arts works to provide access to the arts for all people and have chosen to collaborate with CHAC due to its dedication to inclusivity and powerful storytelling.
